clearest of mornings

if there is time we'll make a better trade
eyes will be dried and vision will be clear
the worst of days comes in the end to fade

choices are hard but yet they must be made
courage requires that every one must dare
if there is time we'll make a better trade

pirates and ninjas will combine to raid
the ones who up till then had not a care
the worst of days comes in the end to fade

shapes in the trees are made of light and shade
things are much sharper in the autumn air
if there is time we'll make a better trade

a calmer time will every stomach aid
we have some decent moments left to spare
the worst of days comes in the end to fade

at bottom stand the ones with fork and spade
whose looming presence causes all to swear
if there is time we'll make a better trade
the worst of days comes in the end to fade
