a paler light reminds us of each chore
so many tasks each acting as a bar
to what we hope for and who we think we are
through massive dullness steady is the bore
but mind and arse alike are truly sore
though neither of them bears a single scar
we look above and have no sight of star
but find so many do not know the score
we let the mind and body feel the chill
of all the emptiness of hurried mind
and do not let a viewer understand
what makes the reader and the thinker ill
the myriad ways that folk make themselves blind
with simple weapons easily to hand
