to keep in mind

you've never asked just how to climb
the mountain that rears up so high
with peaks that seem to pierce the sky
and valley's where the air's sublime
over the miles we hear the chime
of bells that seem made to defy
the laws of nature while we pry
into the deepest recesses of time
what other kind of story's told
about the places where we'd flee
when the time comes to run and hide
we won't regard the wind and cold
nor all the distance from the sea
as long as we can keep our pride
