It looks as if Silvio Berlusconi is being pushed out of power in Italy. The margin of victory for Romano Prodi's coalition is narrow enough that Berlusconi is demanding a riconta. It is to be hoped that a recount shows that the left's victory is a bit less narrow. Not having Berlusconi's least gaffe reported for a while will be a relief.
It is clear that Berlusconi's base among phone sex workers was just too narrow to get his leg over this time.
