Odd ravings, comments, and other wastes of time. Some are in plain prose, yet others are in rhyme.

An October Surprise?
The 'Iran Crisis' -- largely manufactured by the intransigence of both W and Ahmadinejad -- would be a storm in a teacup, but for the fact that the US and Britain seem to be preparing for war. Since the US is unlikely to want to wage a conventional war -- that would require reinstating conscription -- the chances are that it will use tactical nukes on Iran. That would be one way to rally support for the Republicans, given their lousy numbers. It would also make the current mess in the Middle East seem like a quarrel in a kindergarten compared to the (not so) metaphorical explosion that would follow the literal one.
