The Observer is reporting that war with Iran is inching closer. Hugh Barnes makes the point that it is 'neo-con regimes' in both Washington and Tehran that are fuelling the slide towards war. If there is any proof that religious fanatics should be kept as far as possible from power over the lives of ordinary people, then W and Ahmadinejad are furnishing it. As I said yesterday, it will make the current mess in Iraq seem like a quarrel in a kindergarten.
