A major offensive started yesterday in Afghanistan. So far, it hasn't had much impact, except to remind us that the Afghan war is still going on. Like Iraq, there are insurgents, terrorists, suicide bombers, corrupt militias, and a drain on the occupiers' purses. The occupying force is smaller and more diverse, but it is still a quagmire.
