Gordon Brown has called for a day to commemorate being British. Interestingly, Trevor Phillips of the CRE backs the idea. I think it's a good idea. Multiculturalism is important, but it is just as important to develop an overarching identity that holds people together in spite of cultural differences. And that require not insulting people.
