War without end, amen.

Back when the War on Terror ™ was young, we were told that victory in Afghanistan would, inter alia, liberate Afghan women from the shackles imposed by the misogynistic Taleban. Clearly that has not come to pass. Nor has victory in Afghanistan meant the end of the war there. Come to think about it, the chap who started the war is still at large. We've seen quick victory, in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Clearly, military victory is not enough. Perhaps it is time to try something else.
