This is a street sign in the Galician town of Betanzos. Betanzos was a major port in the middle ages until its river (the Mandeo) and bay (the Ría de Betanzos) silted up. This, I'd guess, was the prostitutes' row of the town -- the Street of Disenchantment. In a broader sense, this name could apply to a large number of streets, in many cities. Disenchantment is everywhere.
