exam week

after ferocious blue the washed-out sky
is sombre but the day at least is calm
the mind's overloaded now we may try
to seek a while for some refreshing balm
to ease the pain of thought the misery
of reading all the essays due this week
work that was substituted by treachery
from that which grants the energy i seek
but nothing tells us what we really need
to learn or know in order to survive
some will not fail they'll venture to succeed
the thought of that keeps my spirit alive
i turn from looking at stark autumn beauty
to do the things that i know are my duty

I have absolutely no idea how else to get in contact with you. This is Martha from your American Government class, and I had an email to send to you, but I can't seem to find your email address anywhere. This is a copy of the message:

Professor Ledgister-
I just got back from the clarkston campus and leaving my papers in your mailbox (with a little post-it note from the assitant guy that says I was there before 9:45). I was a little confused, as I was the only one there, and a little worried. We were supposed to hand them in today before 9:45 AM, correct? I assumed you meant for us to come by your classroom, otherwise I'm not sure where I should have been. All I know is that last class, on wednesday of last week, I remember you telling us to be there again one week from that day, so I thought that meant today.
Well, I know your office is not at the clarkston campus, so I don't know when you'll be by there and I've attached the essays to this email just in case you don't get to your clarkston mailbox. I know they aren't in Microsoft Word format (I don't own that program, I own the open-source version called Open Office) but I hope you can still open them anyway. If possible, I'd like to hear back from you to know whether or not I screwed up royally with the date and time and what that might mean for my grade.

~Martha

My email address is Doombubbles@gmail.com (the one I actually use anyway) if you get this at any time today, please contact me about this issue, I'm quite worried now, to say the least.
