we travel without hesitation
are searched by some simpering fools
arrive in a different nation
without any working tools
our bags have been thoroughly vetted
but we are just left in the dark
no idea why our garments were wetted
or why the inspectors all bark
our luggage from us now is parted
and we find out when we arrive
our bags are all back where we started
and we have to learn to survive
the problem these days with air travel
is that while it is certainly fast
our nerves and our tempers unravel
and civility comes in dead last
somewhere in a cave that Bin Ladin
laughs as he greets a new wife
that western civ has been had in
an unequal barbaric strife
for we have confronted our rival
with maximum anger and fuss
but woe to the chance of survival
our enemy turns out to be us
Odd ravings, comments, and other wastes of time. Some are in plain prose, yet others are in rhyme.
