Tom DeLay has bowed to the inevitable. Even as he announced that he was leaving politics, however, he blamed his downfall on personal attacks by liberal Democrats. Heaven forbid that he take responsibility for anything he ever did. Nor, of course, did he ever engage in personal attacks on anyone to the left of Atilla the Hun. That was just in our imaginations.
