In one sign that the Conservative Party may, finally, be realizing that Britain is no longer in the 1950s, David Cameron is seeking to set limits to prerogative powers.
That would be a big step towards ensuring greater government accountability to parliament.
I'm no Tory, but this step towards recognizing that Britain is not what it was in the past, together with expectations that Cameron will seek to increase the number of women and ethnic minorities on the Tory side in parliament, suggests that Britain is, at last, coming to terms with itself.
