To nobody's surprise, the US has attacked the release of the latest photos of torture at Abu Ghraib.

That's because:

A US defence department official said the
images could "further inflame and
cause unnecessary violence".
The
official said action had already been taken
against US soldiers guilty of
abuse at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib jail.
Translation: We've punished the peons who couldn't do a proper CYA, meanwhile the intelligence officers and the higher-ups who have ultimate responsibility walk free.
