A final farewell

Six hours yesterday were devoted to saying farewell to Coretta Scott King. Every living ex-president, except Gerald Ford who is too frail to travel, was there. As were the current occupant of the White House and his spouse.

Unsurprisingly, some of the speakers took the opportunity to speak out in favour of peace (Martin Luther King, Jr, after all, was not only an advocate of non-violent action to change society, he was also an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War). This caused some rightwing idiots to get their knickers in a twist.
