The continuing war

The CIA is alleged to have fired a missile at a town in Pakistan, killing 18 people. This is going to make the 'War on Terror' a lot harder -- especially as it looks as if they didn't get Ayman al-Zawahiri, who is supposed to have been the target.

Pakistan's Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told a news conference the Pakistani government wanted "to assure the people we will not allow such incidents to reoccur".

He said he did not know whether Zawahiri had been in the area at the time.

According to preliminary investigations there was foreign presence in the area and that, in all probability, was targeted from across the border in Afghanistan

Zawahiri has eluded capture since the US overthrew the Taleban in Afghanistan in 2001 despite a $25m bounty on his head.

This is going to make Pervaiz Musharraf's life a lot harder. He is very dependent on American support in order to keep his end of the 'War on Terror' going. If his people, the ones he is, after all, supposed to protect, keep getting killed by his allies, his life insurance premiums are going to be staggering.
